This year, the NAU School of Music made a requirement that all junior degree recitals be joint recitals… so every student giving their junior recital as a degree requirement has to share it with another student, while keeping the performance within a time limit. They’re basically doing this to save money. I’m glad I’ve already gotten my junior recital done, since I think this new rule is bullshit, for many reasons.
Do people agree? Do any other music schools have this requirement?
